Queer & Nonbinary

CSUDH is committed to inclusive excellence for our transgender, non-binary, and queer Toros.

Discrimination and harassment on the basis of gender, including sex, gender identity, and gender expression are prohibited on our campus. Complaints of discrimination or harassment on the basis of gender, sex, gender identity, and gender expression, can be reported to the Office of Equity and Inclusion via the online form, email, or by scheduling a meeting with the Title IX Officer at (310) 243-3492.

Chosen names and pronouns:

CSUDH students may select a chosen or preferred name by following the steps listed on the CSUDH Registrar’s Office Page (under Personal Data Change Form > Preferred Name Change Policy). For assistance with changing your name as a CSUDH employee, please contact the Office of Equity and Inclusion.

The Office of Equity & Inclusion also encourages all members of our Toro community to list pronouns in your email signature and Zoom name to foster inclusivity for our transgender and non-binary students, faculty, staff, and administrators. Even Teddy the Toro, CSUDH's mascot, specifies that they use "they/them" pronouns in their Twitter/Instagram!
